You don’t need to go 100 miles per hour all the time to achieve great things. This book is a great reminder that prioritizing sleep and well-being are key ingredients to success.

Braving the wilderness

Brene Brown - enough said! Her books were my first venture into the “self-help” genre and I haven’t looked back. If I had to pick a favorite of hers, it’s Braving the Wilderness, about our quest for belonging, most importantly to ourselves. The Confidence Code

This book was a total game changer for me. It made me realize that a key differentiator in success is how you project confidence and that keeping your head down and working hard is not always the best solution. You must project confidence - like raising your hand for raises and promotions and making sure your bosses are aware of all the great things you are accomplishing.

The 4-hour workweek

An oldie but a goody! This book completely changed the way I think about the type of career and income situation I want…i.e. a 9 to 5 corporate job is not the goal, but rather a situation that provides the income I need to meet my lifestyle and savings goals while having maximum flexibility to enjoy the present and do the things I enjoy, It helped me realize that a “deferred lifestyle” of work hard and save money while you are young, so that you can retire at some point and then enjoy life is not the best route.
